Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) diced beef steak
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cups beef stock
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Pre-made puff pastry or pie crust
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions:

Cook the Beef Filling: In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add diced beef steak and brown on all sides. Remove from pot and set aside.
Sauté the Onions: In the same pot, add chopped onions and cook until softened. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir until combined.
Make the Gravy: Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Return the beef to the pot and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beef is tender and the gravy thickens.
Prepare the Pastry: Roll out your pre-made puff pastry or pie crust. Line your pie dish with the pastry and fill with the cooked steak mixture.
Cover & Bake: Top the pie with another layer of pastry, crimp the edges, and cut a few slits for steam. Brush the top with beaten egg and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve & Enjoy: Let the pie cool slightly before slicing and serving. Perfect with mashed potatoes or veggies!
