Tiramisu is my all time favorite Italian dessert, but between you and me, I actually kinda hate making it. You need like 100 bowls just to make the cream and basically non stop whisking. And sometimes I wanna eat tiramisu right away. So I stripped tiramisu down to its bare bones and developed the laziest, easiest way to make good tiramisu fast.

  1. Ps I'm half Italian and so is my husband and my son who loves Italian food is both of us so we're never mad at trying to find some cool Italian dishes that are yummy and easy! I don't understand if people get mad about that. I guess they have a lot of time on their hands

  2. This is amazing I'm so excited to try it. It is my absolute favorite dessert. Made a ton of them for my friends wedding and that was the last time. It took us all night. So excited to have this version!!!

  3. The traditional italian home version of the tiramisu does not require 100 bowls but just 2: one for the yolks and mascarpone, one for the egg whites. And you need fewer ingredients overall.
We don't make "egg custard" in a double boiler at home but of course you will need to accept you are going to eat raw eggs.

  4. I'm Italian and I'm not mad. I'm pleased with the results. Well done!! Really hard to tell the difference if done right!!

  5. Actually I watched a foodie tour of Rome that had this “quick” recipe for a dessert offered by a high end restaurant

  6. i don't know how to message you but i'm 64 just retired and only use your recipes. your food is so good and nothing super weird

  7. As an italian, what I enjoy about your approach to italian recipes is the respect you show. You do your homework, you study how it should be done, and when you make any change you explain why. It's usually a very sensible reason.

  8. Just found you, I think…I've made tiramisu 1x or 2x…This recipe has answered my prayers!!!🤤🤤🤤🙏🏼🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

  9. Gavotte is actually crispy crêpes, made in Dinan in Bretagne. It’s also the name of a traditionnal dance in Bretagne

  10. I'm Italian and learned to make Tiramisu from my mamma. This looks great. The only suggestion I would make is to ditch the Kahlua and replace it with grappa. Definitely going to try this.

  11. I don’t know man. Tiramisu is pretty straightforward to make as it is, half an hour to make and assemble tops. Although I don’t mind alterations (I put Amarula and hazelnut liqueur in mine last time I made it), never been a fan of whipped cream in tiramisu, because that’s how a lot of (Italian) restaurants make it over here in the uk.

  12. A lot of Italians will be no that’s not a tiramisu!! 🤣🤣 it’s ok let them, this is like the best version I’ve seen yet, I love the traditional way too, but the time and the egg worry’s me sometimes. I don’t eat sugar and creams these days, but I’m willing to eat it if this is as amazing as it looks and sounds 😋😋

  13. I gotta be honest, I quit making tiramisu because of the reasons you mentioned. As an Italian, I am definitely making this to get back in the game. Thanks for all you do! BTW, I make a lot of your recipes and the family loves it!

  14. Looks good but no cussing please 🙏 it’s out of place in an expertly delivered video always been a big fan. Made your lasagna was to die for ❤

  15. Some people get so caught up in whether something is "authentic". If it's good, it's good. Like the man said, it's better to have a simple recipe that you actually make than a perfect recipe that is never used because it's too difficult/time consuming/annoying.
