Deutsch Küche herring in curry pineapple sauce

I've been wanting to try these for years. The sauce is sweet with very mild pineapple and curry flavor. It was helped with a little vinegar which gave it more tang and enhanced the sweet pineapple. The fish was great, slightly chewy with no bones.
