Cook em and take em home!!!

Edit: who’s serving wings not split. Those are an arm, not a wing

I would have put them away after a couple hours. But then again, it’s not my job to .

  3. SimplyKendra

I’m guessing everyone walked by and saw it but figured “not my job.”

I always enjoy cooking food for the bin to eat.

Such a grown up behavior by you. Taking a photo and posting on Reddit instead of asking your colleagues or chef why they are outside or just throwing them in the garbage. I’m also working in a big hotel and sometimes people forget things and food but nobody would leave something sitting outside for that long if they saw it. You should be ashamed of yourself honestly.

I think this is post is about to back fire… What’s that saying???  If you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem…

Kinda seems like you let them sit out instead of just putting them away yourself so you had something to complain about / someone to blame.

“I was just about to put that away”

I wonder if it was more effort to take the picture and make the post than it would’ve been to put them away and mention it to someone.

“I hope nobody dies!” Proceeds to do nothing and posts picture on Reddit

If you’ve got time to snap a picture and post, you’ve got time to put them away too

I walked from a place after one day for the same thing except they also left raw chicken out for the whole shift in a hot kitchen.

Kept asking what fridge the chicken should go in and they kept telling me to leave it on the shelf. Reported to the EHO.

I usually open and I saw some 2 full trays of baked potatoes, still in the foil, on the cooling rack. I had baked those potatoes the day before, but my shift ended before they were done.

The trash bags were heavy that day

this is why i think unions, in their current form, don’t work for restaurant life. ‘not my job’ and ‘time to clock out’ reign too supreme for someone to take personal responsibility for something like this. Or, HAVING to clock out for a 30 minute break while in the middle of a lunch rush. I like unions but I think they need fundamentally redesigned to work with hospitality. It’d be like a doctor clocking out for a break mid surgery cuz ‘they fought for these rights.’

I also wouldn’t have put them away, no idea when they’re from or what they’re for; i’m not gonna be the one who puts them away once they’re already in the danger zone.

How many times did you walk by this in 4 and a half hours and how many times did you think about putting them away or saying something about it to the whole kitchen?

At least you now have documentation proving you won’t last in this industry

I had some older coworkers make some pre-ordered food for my dinner at 10am. Yeah, they kwft it on the cooling rack. I found them at 2pm, I was completely shocked thst anyone would think to do that. The last thought going through my head was “those are my meals!””.

Texted the boss I was throwing it all away. Maybe we need a talk on how nobody wants 7 hr food for dinner 😭
