This was such a fun job, I was the sole cookie decorator at a bakery in Chicago, and after 5 years of squeezing a bag of icing for 8 hours a day, my hand is so tired. I would do 300-800 a week, some printed, but most not. I got really good at doing things fast as opposed to perfect, which was a personal struggle, but had to be done! I had to quit because of hand fatigue, but I’m happy to be able to decorate for friends and family now. I advise anyone aspiring to this job to have balance where you get to make the dough and cut and bake, or do other things besides squeezing for hours. I would take hand breaks, warm up with a hand strength squeeze, stretch my hand before and after, but still I wore out my hand. Pics of some of my fave cookies I did for tax!

Congratulations! Beautiful cookies – I especially enjoyed the office set with Kevin and the chili. I can’t imagine the hand fatigue through repetitive motion going that many hours with that level of detail. Sound advice for others and wishing you a happy recovery💐
