I posted a burrito from Corner Cottage last week and everybody said "Larry's is better" so I went.

So how are the chili dogs?

This is how I prefer my breakfast burritos to be, not the modern way where everything (bacon, potatoes, eggs, cheese) is chopped into small pieces. All of the burritos from trendy places seem to be like that.

That looks great!

If you get one again, go for tater tots instead of hashbrowns. So good!

I call bullshit – they’re never open!
Kidding aside – had no idea they made breakfast burritos. Will have to try!

Hey foodies, am I the only one who likes breakfast burritos with beans instead of potatoes? Even though beans are not necessarily low in carbs, they’re high in fiber and protein and healthier than fried potatoes.
A lot of places I’ve been to by the default serve their breakfast burritos with fried potatoes, but I have found that many of them will substitute some form of beans upon request without upcharging and to me they taste much better than potatoes.
What’s interesting is some of these places will substitute stewed pinto beans, which are the healthiest, while others might use black beans. I occasionally I will even go to the chain Farmer Boys and they will substitute potatoes with a mixture of black beans and corn kernels, which are really good and definitely healthier than potatoes.
I think my favorite breakfast burrito (and biggest) still remains Lucky Boy in Pasadena and their’s are so big you can usually get two meals out of them—saving half for the next morning.
My favorite basic breakfast burrito when I am near downtown used to be a bargain for around $6 near USC at a shack on Figueroa St. named El Huero. Unfortunately, as with everything else, their prices have gone up and now they serve different versions depending on your meat and filling preferences, but they average under $10 and are really good for the price. My favorite is their basic bacon, egg and refried bean breakfast burrito, which is pretty big for $8.75 but I don’t usually get their coffee because it’s like dishwater, so I usually get a Starbucks and take it with me and sit outside and eat my breakfast burrito in their patio area. They have a small parking lot with free parking, which is usually available most of the time.

Larrys in Burbank is a absolute ICONIC spot – I have worked in music and entertainment so spend a bunch of time in Burbank/Hollywood. I remember years and years ago this place still was bomb. The snap of the hotdog is exactly what you think a hotdog would be like watching movies…Been going here for 20+ years
Larry’s breakfast burritos are great, as everyone knows. But their hot dogs are excellent as well. This is their Chicago dog. Highly recommended. Surprisingly, even though they don’t look like anything special, their fries are perfectly cooked. Just good food all around.

but you didnt get it with chili in the burrito…
so it doesnt count

Larrys is amazing for breakfast burritos. The coral cafe down the road also has really good ones too.
