I recently bought a second hand kamado joe that looked like it had never been cleaned. I should've taken a picture of the top vent but it was extremely caked with grease. To the point where it was hard to rotate the vents. Anyways I scraped it clean with a wire brush then tossed it in the oven. This is what it looks like now lol.. Anyone else have the paint completely off their top vent? And should I replace it or is it safe to use? Thanks.

It’s cast iron. I don’t not believe it has paint on it.
Rub some cooking oil on it. It will probably be ok.
If not, they are cheap to replace
r/castiron has a simple step by step in their info on how to strip and reapply seasoning. Looks perfectly normal to me.
OP was today days old when he found out what CAST IRON is.
