See the background of this photo for a pic (I had been intending to capture the three flowers mushed into one in hopes the mega bloom created a cool tomato, but it just aborted)

Happened to one of mine, the BER was skin deep. LMK if it’s the same.

That particular tomato was developing at a time when the soil didn’t have the right water/nutrient/pH combo.

I’ve had plants that had only 3 tomatoes with BER, and other plants where almost every tomato had it. It’s just a matter of variety, conditions, and probability.

Just guessing… BER can be caused by moisture stress. Maybe that tomato was formed before or after the others, based on the color/ripeness, and the plant experienced moisture stress at that time but not when the others were forming.

Not what you posted about but it seems like you have a pest problem. I can see droppings on some of the fruit and your leaves look like mine with my mite infestation. That could possibly cause issues as well

Tomatoes will grow on a barren island of volcanic ash because someone shit one tomato seed on the island a year ago, they’ll also happily grow in a #10 can ashtray in an alley. They also sometimes grow when we plant and coddle them. Tomato gods work in mysterious ways.
