This place. The one that got away.
I had been going to Taco Quickie Quickie Dog since I was in my mom’s belly and it’s been closed for a while and my heart still hasn’t been right.
It started out as two separate buildings but became one, I guess back in the day they were one taco quickie and the other building was quickie dog.
They converted sometime but it was still a staple in my household and my mom grew up with it after being a teen and adult growing up in South East LA.
There was something so special about the chili on its dogs. It wasn’t traditional and they would boil their dogs then popped them on the grill which is my favorite way to cook a hot dog.
I remember them having like a 39cent size coke when I was a child and loving that.
They still took orders on this huge pencil sheet board and it was great.
I miss you Taco Quickie Quickie Dog. I miss you forever.
