    Definitely needs a K.

    One, not three.

  2. nebulize

Okay even with the benefit of the doubt that it may be a shortened way to say Snickerdoodle that’s totally unacceptable. No way that is unintentional.

  3. DocGerbilzWorld

This is intentional. Queue the pathetic apology post from the business in 3 days.

  4. bluebonnetcafe

In the reviews where people address this, their responses are completely disingenuous and patronizing. I’ve visited a LOT of bakeries out in the Hill Country but won’t go here. They won’t even own up to it, just make up some cutesy story. Cowards and trash.

Edit: I am not associated with the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. I chose this username 12 years ago because I was thinking about pie.

  5. thetruth8989

Truly embarrassing behavior. Can you even imagine acting like this?

Edit: to clarify, the bakery naming it this. Not OP posting it

  6. MontyVonWaddlebottom

Baker: Let’s call them “Dirty Doodles”!

    Owner: hmmmm…needs more hard r

  7. BrianOconneR34

Was just out there to visit science mill. Kid loved it and food was unimpressive. We chose poorly and funny no other cookie carried any such creativities. .

  8. GlitchyGhoul

I’m from this town and no everyone in it and all the tea about living here so if anyone wants to ask me something have at it

  9. GlitchyGhoul

I’m from this town so if anyone wants to ask me anything fire off.

  10. hardballwith1517

I prefer their creamy jockstrap puff pastry

  11. spipscards

Cedar Park is one thing but Johnson City is not even close

  12. RobotMaster1

You can watch the reviews and her responses in real time lol

  13. Individual_Side3330

Please no downvotes. Is there any evidence of an intentional racist joke? Might just be an older generation nickname. Seems like we should find out before condemning

  14. Individual_Side3330

All: i’m not sure if these are all bots, but I just messaged the owner on Facebook and they promised me the name is a short version of snickerdoodle and has absolutely no racist connotations. It hasn’t been sold in three weeks and she has removed it from the store.

  15. SpicyBuysse

Why not Dirty Snicker then? I would never say yes to that name as a business owner.

  16. DontWorryBeHappyMan

I read the name and my first thought was dirty panties ewww. Lets not assume everyone is a racist pos ok folks. Most business owners aren’t that eager to destroy their reputation. Just a stupid mistake the owner already corrected.

  17. Proof_Needleworker53

There is nothing endearing or amusing about this name. If they innocently didn’t get it, then they would have been embarrassed and apologetic the minute it was brought to their attention. They would have given a heartfelt apology and changed the name. There’s no difference between willful ignorance and racism.

  18. GroverMcGillicutty

This isn’t much different than when a Los Angeles-area NAACP chapter made a huge deal over the “Black Holes” Hallmark card. It doesn’t matter how much the owners explain it, people are going to hear what they want. When you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

  19. AllieSylum

Uhhhh….are they British? Please tell me they’re British and they meant “knickers”. 😳

  20. TK-always-S

Ew this is awful. The right and helpful thing to do would be to rename it, not double down. Boo.

  21. aprendido

If they were really innocent consistent with their story they would have used “dirty doodle” for a chocolate chip snickerdoodle. Fuck them.

  22. GroverMcGillicutty

This is the kind of thing that works against the credibility of those who are actually fighting racism. It’s what the right is talking about when they dismissively point to ‘woke mobs’ indiscriminately getting offended at everything. OP makes it even worse by painting all central Texas small business owners as “racist POS,” which is the same mindset as racism itself.

You’re not helping the cause you think you’re helping, OP. The Reddit echo chamber may bandwagon with you, but at the end of the day this only does damage to the cause.

  23. CENTRALTEXASLIFE

You people are pathetic. Ignorance is overflowing from OP to the rest of you pathetic race baiting social justice warriors.

  24. Constant-Fan-3200

WTH ummmmm so racism is really pc there. Come on Johnson city get some class

  25. Eye_K_Feo

Yall think thats bad. You should see what I call my cookies.

  26. TheRabadoo

Next will be their “Anti-trans” cookie where they have less trans fats! Don’t worry, it’s totally just a fun name! Owner’s response was unbelievable lol.

  27. yallsoftasf

Shoulda thrown some respect in it and named it the “Dirty Nickas”

  28. squampsquamps

“They didn’t mean it that way” ok but they are smart enough to know that’s how people would read it. That’s part of the “joke” I assume. It may not have been their original intention but the owner’s response to a review questioning the name makes me feel like it was meant to be (racist) tongue and cheek.

  29. Guzzery

So not surprised to see this in the Hill Country, especially not on the hillbilly stretch of 281.

  30. Jabroni_16

I mean, that is LBJ’s semi-hometown (born in Stonewall) and he was known for using the N-word. Not surprised they would plan with phonics.

  31. autobahn

    Woof.

    Fuck these clowns.

I see they sent all their racist-ass friends here to comment, too.

  32. pjcowboy

Should have been more Gangsta OG rap and named it Nickers with Attitude.

  33. mreed911

Knickers. Slang for underpants in the UK.

Snickerdoodle. Type of cookie not typically dark/chocolatey.

    Stop making everything racial.

  34. Sufficient_Ad_2960

Not a fan of this. Crazy it took me about 100 comments to finally find one that also acknowledged that it sounds like a play on a “racial slur “ which disturbs me bc Johnston city people have been so kind in my personal experiences.

  35. brookepogger

was not expecting to see a coffee shop from my hometown on here! But yes, awful name.

  36. milehighmagic84

Oh don’t get your knickers in a knot.

  37. milehighmagic84

The negative comments and feelings about this cookie are a huge stretch. Yall making a way bigger deal of this than it needs to be.
