I hope you got checked out by a doctor

  2. ekinnee

I’ve received a 110 shock due to a bad ground on the radio sitting on the other prep table. Both tables were in contact with a wet area on the floor.

Def get checked by a doctor getting electrocuted can throw your circadian rhythm outta whack or some shit idk

Had a GM cut a live wire once, he was standing on top of the line with some huge scissors and shocked himself bad. Funniest shit ever, I found the scissors up there a couple weeks later all burnt with a huge indent in them

We had a similar problem at me work. Only happened when they pulled out the fryer at night to clean behind it. Except my idiot coworker not only didn’t say anything about it so it would get fixed, he also kept brushing against the cable and complained that he always got shocked. He wasn’t the smartest person there.

pro tip: cut the plug end off so it can’t be plugged back in again until it’s properly repaired

I got one from a bad ground on a sham not long ago. Then my dumbass is like “wait was that she sham that did that?” And tapped it again with the tips of my fingers lol

Report that shit no matter what any one tells you

  9. mektingbing

Post this in electricians sub n YOu WILL get checked out. Mf ers die every day from the same shit, let alone 220

My job requires an EKG when people get shocked. You can die in your sleep a week later from an arrhythmia.

For every day that the kitchen doesn’t have RCDs on the wiring, remove 1 finger from the Owner.

That must have stung a bit.

  12. I was working fryer one time and the hot plate on salad station behind me had been squeezing the 220 plug against the pass for however long. I guess it melted through and it arc flashed because I was almost blinded by the reflection off the wall.

Turned around and the salad bish was stunned like he had been hit with a flash bang.

Bro go to the doctor and file the worksafe report. It’s all about the documentation

Has this happen on a rice warmer once. Scared the 💩 out of me.

I saw this as a tech a lot. Was once working on an oven in an older Italian place and I had my tool bag on a 20ft prep table in the middle of the kitchen(1am, not during service). When I would place my hands on the table, about 1 or 2mm from toughing I would get a faint shock, hardly noticeable. When I was finally doing paper work I noticed a small acr off my metal clipboard to the table. The cable that powered their ancient heat lamp above the table was zip tied to the llone of the legs and the insulation was worn away under one of the zip ties. I replaced the cable then told talked to the GM, apparently the head chef hads beef off for the past week cause his pacemaker was acting up.

  16. Been there – glad you’re ok! My story, the sandwich station I was at wasn’t grounded, someone snapped off the 3rd leg of course, my kitchen knife blade touched the station’s lid and the expo window, immediately welded the knife in place so bad we had to hit it with a hammer to break it free…I was holding the knife by the handle so I didn’t get zapped thank goodness, but I cussed out the owner after it was determined he was the genius electrician that modified the power wire.

You need to report your injury to workers comp and make a report to your boss

  18. PandorasFlame1

I’m an IBEW Inside Wireman and I very highly recommend you file a worker’s comp claim AND go to the hospital to get an EKG done. A shock can permenatly change your heart beat or even kill you after a delay. I was shocked two years ago and still can’t hold things properly in my right hand (although it’s getting better with time).

  19. Jessewjm

I’ve had tens of 220 shocks and 3 380 shocks, they definitely suck.
    Yes I’m stupid

  20. NegativeC00L

That’ll wake you up real fast. Glad you’re ok

  21. Bitcracker

Jesus fucking Christ. That shit is no joke

  22. Cleercutter

Please go to the doctor, even a small shock can cause issues down the line.
