It’s not so much the amount of onions but the sad look of them. When you say “flashed” does that mean flash fried or boiled? Cuz these look soggy and tasteless. I can’t say I’ve ever seen an onion look unappetizing before…

Next time, put both pieces of bread in the same side of the toaster. Toasted the outside, leaves the inside nice and fluffy.

Okay some tips as someone who enjoys bratwurst, sometimes good angus hotdogs, on bread rather than buns:
1. Sautée about 40x more onion than you have. Optional, sautee some jalapeños too.
2. Cook them dawgs
3. Get some butter going on the pan. Meanwhile, lightly- I mean lightly- toast your bread. Then, put said bread in the pan like you would a grilled cheese. Now fold that bread up around them Dawgs with some spicy brown mustard or other preferred toppings- I’m partial to Sriracha or dipping them in garlic hot sauce- enjoy
Any time I run out of buns, this is what I do. Doesn’t have to be super toasted bread, just get it that good good butter flavor. Better with brioche bread, but in a pinch, I find grilled bread tastes better than uncooked, untoasted sammy bread.
