This thing was as big as a large watermelon with honeydew rind. Imagine my surprise when I started cutting the ends off and saw orange. It tasted like a banana? Fuckiest shit I've ever seen, and no one else in my kitchen had ever seen this before either

    Color wise it’s fantastic also!

Man, cantaloupe and honeydew are some of the most bland and boring ass fruits out there.

To everyone saying they taste awful: when you go and get the fruit from the supermarket smell the “bellybutton” where the stem attaches. The more fragrant, the more likely the fruit is ripe and tasty.

Melons are horrible sluts and will crossbreed with all sorts of cucumbers and the occasional gourd. Armenian cucumbers left to grow long enough turn into a rather mushy melon. You got a lucky cross between something like an armenian cucumber and a honeydew.

Source: I live in the 530 area code in NorCal. Sometimes the hmong farmers market vendors save their own seeds and will sell the interesting results.

I’ve gotten a melon like that before, we got most of our produce at the time from a local lady who did all heirloom veg and she would just drop shit off and we’d be like ok guess I gotta figure out what to do with this now. Glad I tasted that one before it went onto the burrata salad lol

You win the award for the hardest word for a dyslexic person to read on Reddit today congratulations. I just spent easily 3 minutes trying figure out how this would sound. Eventually I gave up into a text to voice app. Is this an actual different fruit? Is that its real name? How did you come about such a strange fruit? Was it in a bundle of Honeydew melons?
