Anyone else have plants that are still booming well into their death bed days ? My season could end any day now and my scorpions and cayennes have just flowered again. Kind of a shame there’s no chance they’ll make it 😔 pour one out (or in) fellas

If you’re seeing a ton of flowers this late, you should top your plants. All the energy going into new flowers will cause your pods to be small and not ripen in time. (I’m assuming you’re in a cold region, btw)

  2. Almost all of mine are flowering again. No point to it, sadly, with temps in the 40s coming this week.

    You could:

    1. pinch the flowers and buds hope that all remaining energy goes into finishing fruits.

    2. Be happy about the peppers you got, and be happy to, “feed the bees” before winter sets in.

    3. Get a sheet ready to cover your peppers at night, lightly water and cover, and watch the weather like a hawk. Typically after a cold snap the weather is tranquil and sunny. Even if temps are in the 40’s (f) pods will mature. It never just, “ turns to winter.

    4. Start earlier next year, get a heat mat and light put a 1’ plant out at your earliest frost date. Or overwinter your favorite plants.

    5. All of the above. Something i forget every year is you only need a few super hots to make a lot of sauce. Unless you are a glutton for pain 3-4 pods of reapers (or habaneros for that matter) can make a gallon of sauce. Instead ill grow 60 plants and have hundreds of pods 🥵🥵

  4. Peppers are all perennials, they should flower constantly and it’s a sign of healthy growth.

Yeah, at least in Colorado it felt like this growing season was really weird. It was super hot in July/August and my plants did not love that and grew very little. Then September was perfect and they went nuts. And now it’s October and it feels like they are trying to make up for the missed mid-summer months.

The season was just really odd this year. I’m in the PNW but sounds like it was off just about everywhere. I have the same thing going on. I topped like usual, got things growing outside as soon as I could and still just flowers. 🤷‍♂️

UK and have this issue as well at the moment its so sad. Im thinking about just bring my top 3 plants inside in the grow bags and just letting them overwinter fully to see if i get more fruits
