I noticed this yesterday after washing. I don't believe it was this bad prior to cooking my meal in it last night.

It was that viral marry me chicken dish that ended up being a big meh.

Is this still good to use please?

When you run it with your finger nail or scraper edge, does it come off? Can you feel an indention?

If it’s not dirty and that’s actually ceramic you’re seeing through the enamel, I wouldn’t use it.

The only way I could see that happening is rough repeated use of metal utensils inside of it.

But, that looks, to me, like a very dirty crock pot.

You can get a replacement for cheap. Don’t use it like this

  3. If you buy a new slow cooker and want to prevent this, always spray the inside of the pot with something like Pam. Or just use liner bags in this one.

I would re-wash it with a good bit of soap. That looks like my crocks when I cook a fatty meal and the soap, fat, and hard water combine.

Wondering if you know that the ceramic insert can be taken out to wash because it doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned well. You can even put it in the dishwasher.

If it’s not just unclean, if there are actually nicks and chips in the glazed surface, I’d get a new one. And I’d stop using metal utensils in it, especially since it would take a bit of forceful use to chip or nick that surface. If you can’t make sure it’s treated with care, use only wooden, silicone or other “soft” utensils in it.

Along with other suggestions, I’d add vinegar to the water for more cleaning power. I used to have to clean my steamer in a bath of vinegar and water. The boiling cleaned that little steam nub that steamers have.

Give a round of cleaning with barkeepers friend a go. If it doesn’t come off then toss it

My crock pot inside can get clean, but grubby looking too. I use baking soda and make a paste with water. Spread the paste on the grubby areas and let sit a bit. Then use a soft damp rag and wipe off. Most times the grubby stains wipe off. I’ve found this has made mine look great again.
