Our Serrano plant is really starting to turn out peppers into October! We are in Kansas City, so our growing season is a tad longer than those "up North." My wife has a better sniffer than I do, and she can detect heat pretty reliability. So here we come, salsa verde!

I’ve always been curious why home growers don’t let their peppers ripen. I understand why commercial farmers do it… money… but flavor wise
    Red jalapeños > green jalapeños
    Red shishito > green shishito
    Ripe > not ripe

It’s like limes… ripe yellow limes > green limes

Definitely not serranos. They look good, but they’re definitely too pointy to be serrano peppers.

Never seen a Serrano with a rib like that on the right one, are they hot?
