Can I use this shrimp paste in oil to make kimchi ?
I usually use a plain shrimp paste when making kimchi but the store ran out of the specific brand I use. So I picked this one which contain oil. Is it fine to add oil in kimchi ?

If you’re fermenting, then no good, oil will go rancid. You can even get pockets of odd mixing and botulism going on.
If you’re mixing up for fresh eating, tasty goodness.

Don’t use that. The brined shrimpies aren’t necessary.. you could use wakame seaweed instead. Just rehydrate and throw it in the blender or food processor or bullet or whatever you use to make the paste.
