Potato rice is an indian dish.

Cook rice in a rice cooker but only a quarter to half of what you usually would eat.

1.Fry some Bay leaves, cloves, cardamom, one cinnamon stick, cumin and garlic/Ginger paste in a hot pan. Then add some onion and sautee.

  1. Then add potato and fry along with the spices. Add as much potato as you want to replace rice with.

  2. Add some water and one tomato cut in cubes then add dry spices (turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, pinch of salt). Simmer tomatoes until done.

  3. Turn off the heat and stir in the rice from your rice cooker.

  4. Finish with Garam Masala to taste.

You can eat potato rice as a dish on its own, in that case you should add salt to taste.

Today I used potato rice as a side, so I just used a pinch of salt. Omit a few spices if you feel like they are overpowering the dishes you eat the potato rice with.
