Got gifted this huge chunk of meat, it's been in the freezer for a while and I can't remember if it's venison, lamb or beef. Any tips on how I should cook it?

    Your picture made me LOL.

Did you put the banana there to show approximate size?

If so, how does a banana help since they aren’t standard sizes? 😉

Pressure cooker/slow cooker. Ranch seasoning packet, pot roast seasoning packet, 6 full banana peppers, cup of beef broth, half cup of water. Side potatoes.

  3. Slit in the side, put a chunk of chocolate in there, wrap it in tin foil and then a few hours on high.

Smoke the meat, tomorrow put it in a crockpot for stew 🤙

  5. my guess would be venison, i’d make stew out of it, though maybe slowly roasting it would work.

  6. If you don’t know what it is, definitely slow cook it. You could cut a thin slice off it and fry it to check first.

It looks pretty lean, suggesting venison. Skin the excess fat and silverskin. Cut into chuncks and stew it.

    For the stew:

    Diced bacon or pancetta

    Diced Onion, Carrot, celery.

    crushed Garlic

Stock, if you don’t know what meat it is, use vegetable, veal or chicken.

    Tomato Puree

    Smoked Paprika

    Mixed dried herbs

    Salt

    Pepper

Sear the meat in a frying pan, throw it into a crockpot. Add the other ingredients and stew.

I had a venison roast a few months ago that looked just like this. I made a Mississippi pot roast and it was fantastic!
