This is what half a cup of white rice looks like. The brand I’m getting says it is 324 calories! Does this amount look like it is 324 calories worth? Should I change rice brands? Or is it right?

The brand doesn’t matter. 1/2 cup of dry rice is the same across the board

Cooked rice per 100 gr has about 130 calories, those calories and macros are by raw weight since it then doubles its size or more due to water, just like pasta, that is why you must specify the weight cooked or raw.

I mean 100g cooked is like 130 and they absorb a tone of water when cooking that seems right 100g dry will make like 300g cooked rice is very cheap in cal for the volume, how are you cooking them

From my bag of Nishiki rice, dry

    Serving size
    1/4cup, 45g
    Cals: 160
    Carbs: 36g
    Protein: 3g

it really make sense that cooked rice is different from uncooked rice, 100g cooked riced is 150 calories however 100g of uncooked rice is 350 calories because it doesn’t have water in it, its just freshly grained

I think you should weigh them cooked. 1/2 cup dry rice becomes 1 1/2 cups of rice when cooked.

100 gram of uncooked rice can become 250-300 grams of cooked rice due to water volume.
