    Get what you want (macaroni and cheese), and add what you need (veggies)! This looks like such a killer comfort meal. I am a firm believer that turkey sausage is the superior sausage.

    It literally is a balanced meal. Not sure why you phrased it like that. Even dietitians and nutritionists who help you lose weight will always say add food to your plate donโ€™t subtract, which is exactly what you did! The mac and cheese doesnโ€™t suddenly cancel out all the nutrients in your green beans and meat. Eating a candy bar at the end of my day doesnโ€™t mean the veggies and meat I ate throughout the day suddenly lost nutritional benefits! You are doing absolutely amazing with this meal!

    When I was a kid, we were taught about the 4 food groups, and that a balanced diet had to include foods from each. I understand there are more groups today, I guess ? But you’ve got all 4 of those basic food groups on that plate! And a higher volume of veggies than the carb or protein, which is the nutrition information that I’ve heard pushed more recently. Any way you look at it, that’s a balanced meal.

    I personally prefer broccoli over green beans as a mac n cheese pairing, but that’s just personal preference. Otherwise, I think that’s a fabulous meal.
