Need your opinion : my customer give me this picture to make some cookies of.
This is what I made. The original order was 140 cookies.
Made these and send her and she said that my Nutcracker is ugly, rough and not the same on all the cookies. Also she said there was a lake of details on my cookies.
What's your opinion on my Work ? Thanks by advance. 🩷
(On my cookies it missed the entire belt but I did it after – We discussed about the Sword and we're agreed that I have not to draw it !)

Your cookies are adorable. I’m sorry you received negative feedback. Cookies are suppose to be FUN, not an exact replica. These are highly detailed and any person eating them would be amazed!!! If she is refusing to pay for them, package and freeze them. You can easily sell them at Christmas!!

These are stunning looking cookies. Very detailed and neat. Love how you made them with an arch and they don’t look like you’re average colors for Xmas.
She might have a point about the sword but if you add it it might take up too room.

Perhaps you can sell them to someone else individually or freeze them for sale closer to Xmas.
How much was she originally going to pay you for all these. They could probably sell for a lot more individually

Your customer needs to get their eyes checked because they look good!! Also, they can’t have the expectation that they will look exactly like the picture because it’s icing!!
What they said. Tell her you’re sorry she’s not pleased and you hope she has better luck with another decorator then package and sell them yourself. If you sold them as a cookie tray for Christmas get togethers, you would sell them all and people would be thrilled.
Do not redo, and don’t offer a discount.

These are awesome, and that sounds like a customer not worth having. I hope you up-charged with this level of detail. Also to clarify, did you make 140 cookies of these exact ones or it was part of a 140 cookie order? Either way, that is a GIANT order for one person. I’m guessing it was to reduce the price of a 140 cookie order.

Your cookies are beautiful with a massive amount of detail. Especially considering the size! The only suggestion I might make is possibly to draw the eyes on using edible marker. It might make the faces look a little more detailed.
But, honestly, I think she’s angling for a discount. I’d cancel her order, freeze them and sell them at Christmas.

I don’t think the client is right or deserves any kind of credit, but I do understand where their feedback is coming from.
A nutcracker’s expression is defined by the eye/eyebrow combination, and the expression on her example is different than the end result.
When the eye connect to the brow, it’s like a soldier looking up at attention, when the eyes are disconnected from the brows, it looks like they are surprised and less consistent.
