do you ever make goofy-looking meals for the little ones? Presenting a small school of fishies with pea-eyes and mozzarella-mouths swimming through the crystal-clear waters towards a lifeboat filled with tartar sauce.

My mother does this for my daughter for breakfast every day. Silver dollar pancake, fruit, and whipped cream in various cute shapes. I however, plate everything like it’s a 5 star restaurant for my daughter, for some odd reason.

My kid wanted crabby patties and kelp fries once so we did and he did the menu ,fun stuff memories.

I used to do hotdog octopus. My littles loved it. I wish I could figure out how to comment an image.

This is cute but just curious, how many kids do you have? Did you literally just cook up 5 individual peas?

That’s not an egg with sperm?

Sure, I bought some rice molds a while back-I’ve made the otter swimming in curry a couple times
My favorite lunch when I was a little kid was Face Lunch. In hindsight, a way to clean out the fridge and also make a meal with very little. We would get a random odds and ends form the fridge and make a face on the plate. Cucumber slices for eyes, shredded cheese for hair, etc. I loved doing the same for my child when they were young.

I did it for my son when he was little, I called it edible art. He wouldn’t eat strawberries unless I made them into roses or apples into swans.

Not for the kiddos, but for myself, I enjoy writing “EAT ME” onto cakes and cookies with an edible frosting pen.

If I could get my granddaughter to eat something like this, I would make it! She has only a few items, no fruits, no veggies, eats chicken but only the crispy skin, bagels, pancakes, waffles, French toast, corn dogs, and quesadillas. We were using Pediasure to supplement but she found out it wasn’t really chocolate milk so that ruined it. It is maddening. And she can wait me out. Plus, I already did my time as a mother. I wanna be Gramma.

This is actually a good way to practice plating. My food taste good, but it always looks like mash in a bowl, or disorganized splorge of food on a plate 😅

My mom still does that for one of her grandsons, who is staying with her. It is refreshing making such meals for those you care about.

Omg yesssss and my kids are 23 & 21. I would make a face. I’d use meats, veggies and some other fun stuff. They ate it all. Love the fish idea – you do what you gotta do 😉

If it’s flounder you need 5 more green peas.
