* Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper. * In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. * Mix in breadcrumbs and chopped parsley, stirring constantly for about 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. * In a large bowl, season ground turkey with salt, pepper, and cayenne. Mix in the cooled onion and breadcrumb mixture until well combined. * Transfer the turkey mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing to form a loaf shape. * Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf and then layer with the thinly sliced bacon. * Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through. * Let the meatloaf cool slightly in the pan before slicing. Serve warm with your choice of sides.

I have so many questions but all that matters is that you enjoyed it and saved money in the process.

I was onboard with the haters until I checked out the recipe that OP used. This is a nearly perfect execution of the recipe used. Yes, I’d say 4-5 people would be a stretch unless serving with a heavy starch (mashed pots probably) and it’s unsightly, but based on the recipe contents, I am confident that its appearance does not do it justice. I would NOT call this a stellar recipe, but I would also not blame any of that on the OP, they actually seemed to follow the recipe incredibly well.

Humble suggestions: Cook the bacon, chop it up, and add to the meat loaf.
Also, if you free-form the loaf, you can spread the sauce all over the loaf, which helps with appearance and taste.
Happy Cooking!

That barely resembles food, let alone meatloaf. How is it either of those things?
