This was two whole sweet onions that I let sit on the stove for an extra 3.5 hours on low, the bright bits are garlic I just added.
The flavor is otherworldly, it’s going to be used in a caramelized onion & black garlic pasta with fresh mozzarella & lobster tails on the side

I… I love slightly burnt onions 😭 I know burnt food gives you cancer but.. godddd slightly burnt onions.. crispy, yet chewy, concentrated onion flavor..
almost there! just another minute
All you guys saying this is burned have clearly never caramelized onions. Shame. He has literally created caramelized onion concentrate.
Good job OP. I’ve always wondered about caramelizing this long on very low heat
Slow cooker caramelized onions are real.
What you have made here is caramelized roasted garlic onion jam, and I can confirm it is delicious.
I usually get a jar of this whenever I go to Walmart or Target. The company that makes it is Stonewall Kitchen and they make speciality foods. They also make Mapel Bacon Onion Jam which is also great. I slap it on everything, bugers omg
why don’t they sell this stuff at the supermarket. I’d make it but then my house smells overwhelmingly delicious for a week.

The final product- extra caramelized onion & black garlic pasta topped with mozzarella burrata.
