Man, I feel this so much. Every day. Every. Fucking. Day.

I’m the guy that would stuff a couple in the old box, so it looks like I was being proactive and helpful by opening the new box early instead of being a douche.

“If it fits….”
I explain over and until I’m out of breath that we kill ourselves 10 seconds at a time doing shit like this.

I mean, there are ones in every kitchen. I feel for you. My pet peeve is the 5 partially used, opened boxes of the same size stacked on each other because no one bothers to look to see if there is an already opened box before getting a new one

That box holder and the container on top adds an extra step. Unfortunately, that’s asking to much

AdditionalIy, I see difficult to wash prep surfaces and a wall not done in tile or FRP…

Next thing you’re gonna tell me you replace the empty toilet roll in your bathroom at home.
Ogax

mission_to_mors
But but chef its just faster if other people do my work for me 🤷♀️

😅you guys also get the crates of lemons where on top there is one diagonal line of paper wrapped lemons, that somehow despite beeing at the top always end up as the last ones in there?
Sorry-Human
Those are the same people that don’t replace the TP roll at their own homes

It’s all this small bullshit that kept adding up and finally pushed me over the edge. Sadly I ended up 86’ing my 3 decade career due to the sheer blatant laziness of too many coworkers. Godspeed comrades.

Oh my teenage daughters work there?

That about what sums it up nowadays days. There was a time when cooks were cooks and Chefs had time to direct someone to take of menial things. But chefs are cooking now and it seems they just act like slack jaw cooks. Just an observation.

This was my biggest pet peeve when I was the manager at a deli, I would replace them when I worked every time. On my day off eco lab came and dinged us for not having gloves ready to go. Came back in from my days off to a write up 🤬 so I went out my way to write up every one who had worked when eco lab had came in that day while I was off, one of them was on their last write up and got canned for not re stocking gloves. Was such an easy fix to re stock the gloves and had warned them over 3-4 times, I felt no sympathy at all 🤷🏾♂️

At least they got a new box.
The people I work with would either go into the group chat and ask what they should do or they’d leave it empty and not say anything until the next day when they complain that we ran out of gloves, even though there’s a whole case on the same spot they’ve been for 10 years.

Yeah, I don’t mind it you do this when you are extremely bussy, and then clean it up once you have 5 seconds. But too many times I’ve seen this shit on slow days
