Ingredients:
– 2 cups Water
– 1 tbsp fish sauce

– Chicken breast: 2 large, boneless and skinless Blanched
– Chicken powder (optional) https://amzn.to/408UrFf
– Cornstarch: 1/2 cup
– Self-raising flour: 1 1/2 cups https://youtu.be/rA7wrVVjldg
– Water: 3/4 cup โ€“ or as much as you need to make a batter
– Salt: 1/2 tsp / Pepper: 1/2 tsp (optional)
– Oil: for frying (vegetable or canola)
– Burger buns: 2, toasted
– Pineapple slices: 2, grilled (optional)
– Sweet and sour sauce: 1/4 cup (store-bought or homemade)
– Mayonnaise: 2 tbsp

Sweet and Sour Sauce (optional homemade):
– Diced peppers/onion/carrot
– Dash sesame oil
– Ketchup: 1/4 cup
– Rice vinegar: 2 tbsp I used Apple Cider Vinegar
– Light Soy sauce: 1 tbsp
– Brown sugar: 2 tbsp
– Pineapple juice: 2 tbsp
– Cornstarch: 1 tsp, mixed with 2 tbsp water

NOTE! It’s a slip of the tongue; I said marinade the chicken; I meant brine

  9. My major problem is I have a really bad allergy to capsicum which is a nightmare when eating Asian food. So it would be just onion and carrot in the sauce. Any suggestion for substitute veg I could use. The burgers looked delicious but oh so bland without capsicum

  11. I'm glad to see you didn't say "to make the chicken more tender". Unless you're using an old stewing hen or old grey rooster, chicken is already tender. As soon as I hear a cook/chef say this, I get this knot in my chest. Thats like saying fish is tough…what, are you eating swordfish bills? This is a great idea; my wife would love these. This one is not for me,I just donโ€™t like sweet,and sour ,and on a sandwich not at all.I still love to watch you make all these recipes,as I appreciate many of your viewers love sweet,and sour.When I first came to the US in the 1960โ€™s sweet,and sour was popular,but the chicken wasnโ€™t battered,but something about pineapple,onion,and green peppers just didnโ€™t sit right with me,but when Sichuan,and Hunan started to appear in the 1970โ€™s sweet,and sour just disappeared,at least here in the NY Metropolitan area.๐Ÿ˜Š
