Apologies if this is a dumb question, it's my first time growing tomatoes. These yellow pear and Cherokee purple plants were planted in May. At this point, it seems like they are succumbing to disease, although I'm still finding tomatoes every day and it's still warm enough to keep them going. Pic 2 is one of the yellow pear I picked today. My question is, when do I pull these? If I'm still getting tomatoes, do I let them keep going?

What USDA gardening zone are you in? I’m in zone 6 and we’re enjoying an unusually warm fall so I’ve let a few things go longer than usual. Tomatoes and peppers specifically.

I just trim off any new flowers on my larger tomatoes since I know there won’t be time for them to fully grow.

Those yellow pear vines are very hearty. Keep a close eye on the forecast and cover them with landscape fabric if your temps drop near freezing.

If they’re still producing, and you don’t need the space, I’d let it go. The quality of the tomatoes will decrease as the weather gets cooler, but if they’re still producing, just let it grow.

If the plants do become diseased, be sure to dispose of them in your green waste and that your compost pile.
