What am I doing wrong? Some flowers are completely dried up and others appear to be doing well. Are the ones that are doing well also going to shrivel up? All I do is water and fertilize every now and again. Grew from seed, have been outdoors the whole time.

Live a little southeast of Tampa. Weather is still nice out.

This is what happens. The flowers are pollenated, the flower part shrivels up and falls off, and a little tomato starts to grow.

If this is happening but no fruit is forming that is also somewhat normal, to a point. It is rare that every flower on a plant will produce fruit. This is particularly normal with the first flower clusters.

If it keeps happening and you are seeing zero tomatoes forming, there is a problem that is usually caused by temperatures. Differing tomato varieties need different temperature regimes to set fruit. Some varieties are very particular. Others are more forgiving. Too hot, to cold, not enough temperature difference between day and night…all these things can matter. Also, things like high humidity can have an effect.

The good news, such as it is, is that there really isn’t a whole lot you can do. Keep the plant happy…well watered, regularly fertilized (but not too fertilized, put it in a sunny spot, and it will set fruit when tje conditions are right.

If this becomes a persistent issue, you may need to change up the varieties you are trying to grow. Not all varieties do well in all regions.
