This plant was thriving until a week ago when some animal stole all my tomatoes in the middle of the night. Now that they’re all gone the leaves look sad and wilted. Are the two related? Is something else wrong? This is my very first tomato plant and I didn’t even get to enjoy my tomatoes…

Short answer: it’s stressed. Feed it and maybe uppot it.

Is that a determinate or indeterminate variety? How big is that pot?

Non dwarf indeterminates need a minimum of 10 gallons and usually prefer closer to 20 gallons. Determinates vary by variety but usually 5 to 7 gallons is the absolute minimum, 10 being much better. Tomatoes do NOT like being cramped.

In addition to needing enough room for its roots, additional space means more soil, which means it can hold onto nutrients better. How often do you feed it solid and liquid fertilizer? Liquid fertilizer should be every 7 to 14 days depending on how often you have to water (as watering flushes a lot of nutrients out). It definitely looks like it needs a feed. Liquid soluble fertilizers are immediately bioavailable to the plants so they can grab the nutrients and put them to use.
