John Amato, Jr. has taken over an old-school Jersey deli from his dad and uncles. John is the owner of Fiore’s House of Quality in Hoboken, an institution that’s been around since 1903. Fiore’s is known for its homemade mozzarella, as well as its Italian deli sandwiches featuring meats like mortadella, gabagool, and prosciutto. Staying true to his family’s original recipes, John’s philosophy is to keep things feeling like they did in the 50s: same recipes, same friendliness, and same vibes.

  1. Question for whoever edited this video: did you color grade this or was this is left ungraded? If it is color graded, why choose to make it so grey?

  2. This is the only place I order a roast beef sandwich from. Problem is I always eat the mozzarella off the sandwich first 🤷🏾‍♂️

  3. My family is from Vernazza ( Liguria). What’s amusing is that many People think that actually Pasta, Pizza, Coffee, Sorbetto, Sugar, rice, almonds, pistachio, amaretto, mozzarella are actually Italian ! I had my culture shock at the Museum of F. Arts in Genova with their impressive exhibition about the History of food. Guess what? Most of these food I mentioned were brought to Europe and Italy guess by whom?
The Arabs.! Si davvero, gli Arabi ! The exhibition’s title: Mangiamo Arabo Senza Saperlo ( we eat Arabic without knowing it).
Good lesson for us ignorant Americans !/

  4. Nobody knows that NJ has better delis than NY (Italian & Jewish) because everyone not from NJ spends their time shitting on it 😂 okay with us, the reason the quality stays so high on this side of the Hudson is because we dont have a high volume of transplants that don’t have a real standard. It’s all locally driven. If you don’t uphold your quality in NJ you will be ran out of the market real quick.

And before the NY people get mad, I know a lot of Jewish delis in NY that ship in their bagels from NJ. I used to take a girl from NY. We always had arguments about this. She was speechless when we figured out her favorite Jewish deli got their bagels from NJ 😂
