Hi all,

Moved into a new place and got my first natural gas BBQ, and an older Napolean prestige.

The trouble I'm having is twofold:

1) the gas line from the BBQ is too short in length to attach to the house's natural gas valve. I assume this is no biggie and I can get an extension line, but see #2 below …

2) the BBQ's male nozzle is roughly 1.5 cm or 5/8 inches in diameter measured from the outside of the nozzle (I say roughly because I don't have a proper caliper to measure). The house's female gas valve quick release is roughly 2 cm or 3/4 inches in diameter measured from the inside.

I've moved the BBQ close to the house's gas valve and confirmed the male nozzle from the BBQ is too small to latch into the gas valve's quick release.

Pics attached – I would appreciate assistance in figuring out what extensions/adapter or other items required to get this thing going.

The connection you have is called a quick connect/disconnect. Your hose is the first pic is missing the connector piece. In the 2nd pic, that black ring moves back and forth so that while it is pulled back, you can slide the male counterpart in and let go of the ring so it will snap and lock into place.

Get yourself a longer hose with the proper sized connection on it to go from your grill to the gas line hookup.
