so this is one of my 2-3 daily meals

    500g artichokes in olive oil
    150g olives
    250g chicken breast strips

all weighed in a 1.4L container pre portioned, slowly eaten with 1.5L of water

the only problem with this is that it isn’t satisfying at that amount, I feel like I usually would want at least 1 kilo of artickokes and half a kilo of chicken plus a couple whole jars olives but it would be too many calories if I don’t eventually stop. In terms of calories, I can allow myself to eat maybe 2-3 boxes like that (always a huge veggies portion plus protein and unsaturated fats) a day but I would want like 10-12. As it is, this leaves me super hungry, it feels like one bite and I can’t stand the hours until the next meal.

Note that I already tried an even higher volume version [here](https://reddit.com/r/CICO/comments/1fc1vj5/1160cal_61g_fiber_75g_protein_22g_fat_lunch/) where I did have about 1kg veggies, still did not get full from it and it was said that I need more fat for satiety but even with 50g fat/oil poured in I am still super hungry after eating and I have no idea what to do.

Unless you’re on a low-carb diet for medical or other similar reasons, I’d add a real carb source (as in: not one that’s mainly fiber like vegetables) to actually feel full. Because at least I personally need proper carbs (potatoes are a great volume option) in a meal to feel truly satisfied and full for longer. And like someone else already said: Get those artichokes canned in brine rather than oil 🙂

Potatoes are a great volume option and would fit in so well with this meal

Ok, I’m not judging in any way. But to me this feels like a medical issue. When one eats kilograms and doesn’t get satiated and is left feeling hungry, that sounds like there might be a brain problem. Like an actual pathological brain issue that sends the wrong signals.

U realize this same meal can be like 500 cal if u didn’t drench it in oil?

The fat content. That makes like 450 calories. You could have add 350 gr fat free tenderloins

Are you using jarred artichokes in olive oil? If so, trying artichokes in water instead or fresh artichokes (they’re super easy to cook).

Everyone has already said it, but your biggest issue is the amount of oil. If you think carbs aren’t satiating, a tablespoon (or nearly 3 if we’re talking 40 g of olive oil) is even less so. That’s 339 calories in OIL alone. For 339 calories, you can have 1.5 more chicken breasts. Or an entire large potato. Or 11 cups of broccoli.

That’s the key to volume eating.
