Asked the waiter if it’s correct and the chef came out and said yeah that’s their chashu, it’s a block of dried af broth meat. Never going back

Yeah that’s a big ol chunk of pork

Which to be real I’d be into because I like nice piece of chewy soup pig but I’d be miffed if I was told it was chashu

  2. There’s a ramen place by me that serves gray shavings of what tastes like gamey boar meat and they call it chashu.

NSFW lol. Looks like when I’m in a hurry and make a quick broth from a pork shoulder steak. But it also looks like I forgot to pull the steak out and trim the meat before it overcooks. Condolences.

  4. I’ve had deli ham slices served to me and called it Chashu

  5. NSFL (Not Safe For Life) might be a better tag. That looks worse than five day old tuna fish from a can.

  6. If the soup and noodles are good, I don’t care honestly. Chashu and everything else are just garnishes after all.

You say Chashu and I hear:

Yeah that’s a big ol pork chunk, but I’m not mad at it.

That looks like a chunk of pork ham meat or something, nothing as fatty as belly.
