9 months pregnant so I decided today was for homemade yorkshires in case I don’t get a chance again soon. Used Mary Berry’s recipe – 100g plain flour with a pinch of salt, add three beaten eggs and a dash of milk. Bring it together than add the rest of the milk (225ml total). Cooked in hot beef dripping.
For my roast potatoes, I par boil, fluff in a metal sieve and steam with a tea towel over and add to hot beef dripping with salt and pepper.
Stuff half a lemon and onion up a chickens bum with a sprig of rosemary and garlic cloves. Add to the roasting tin, quick glug of olive oil and salt and pepper.
When the chicken is done I move the potatoes to a fresh tin to keep cooking if needed or stay warm if not. Remove all the bits from inside the chicken and add flour to the pan. Set it on the hob, add chicken stock and bring to the boil – then add chicken granules and a good few dashes of Worcestershire before straining it all through.
