Dining with a friend at an Italian restaurant. Pretty bummed that they have a no outside beverages policy so I can’t bring my own wine.
Was contemplating to bring a Solaia or Sassicaia then I saw the prices in their wine list are like 3-4x retail in Singapore.
Prices are in SGD.
Any recommendations you guys have for something that is of better value?
I have identified Roserock Drouhin Oregon Chardonnay 2018 @ SGD175 for the white wine.
Am looking for further recommendations and maybe a red wine.
Thanks in advance for your views!

I don’t have context for prices in Singapore but I would drink a beer if I were presented with a list like this.
Holy Mother of Markup.
Most of those are just criminal…
Water.
It’s actually a nice, tidy list. But appalling prices.
Drink xinomavro and pretend it’s Barolo 😃
Lmao these prices are a crime
I would go to a different restaurant. The prices are fucked.
ArPePe, Vietti, or Bibi Graetz
The prices are crazy…
I paid 150 EUR for tignanello in a restaurant in Spain… here it is 400
These prices are actually on the average/lower end in Singapore. What restaurant was this?
Brovia. Without really scouring the more obscure parts of Italy on that list anyway. The Brovia is at least only about 2.5x retail. In the challenging 2014 vintage, Brovia combined their four crus into this wine and it appears to be very well regarded despite the vintage. So that would be my choice.
