I’m running a hotel lounge but my costs are through the roof. Can I get some help on the wine list?

Ice, 2024: Crisp, clearly a good vintage, but somewhat flat on the nose; excellent minerality. To my classical palate, these cubes were clearly harvested too late from the tray, with predictable results. Still, impressive overall.

Renmano Chairman’s Selection Shiraz, 2022: Generic ripe fruit with no depth or nuance.

Belleruche CdR, 2022: Dirty stewed plums and coarse tannins. Not the _worst_ cheap Côtes-du-Rhône. I suppose it’s what I’d drink if we’re out of Ruinart.

Ruinart NV: A beautiful song of lemon peel, green apple, juniper, fresh bread and chalky minerality. With the exception of Krug, this is certainly my favorite NV of the grandes maisons.

Canaletto Pinot Grigio, 2022: Citrus-forward, thin, unbalanced.

(my apologies to the mods in advance)

On a more serious note, what I drink in American lounges is mostly Riesling, when it is available.

The best free lounge wine I’ve had has been from Airfrance, which has consistently good Champagne and occasionally VERY good Champagne.

What do you all drink, when confronted with the standard lounge selection? What’s the best free lounge wine you’ve had?
