    My boyfriend works in a steakhouse. He likes ribeye, MR. I like NY, blue. If I liked ribeye I’d probably go with R. He rants about how it is a stupid trend for people to want their steaks blue & that people who do it are stupid sheep who don’t know anything about steak. I’ve ordered my steaks rare for 30+ years, & started ordering blue when I discovered that option. I defend myself saying that he’s talking about ribeye, not NY. Blue ribeye is gross. I like NY steak. Different. Somehow my personal preference in steak has become emasculating.

    Ok, thanks for letting me vent. Just wanted to comment on how the social expectations put on male meat eaters is affecting my relationship lol

    Rare on a filet for sure but I like a ribeye a little more medium rare to render that fat and I love the fat.

    If I was cooking that cut, I’d do med-rare just to render the fat a bit more.

    That said, I’d devour that as is if you put it on a plate in front of me.
