Hi everyone,
I’m planning a DIY project to embed a circular charcoal grill (like a Weber) into a round table, creating a setup similar to a Korean BBQ. Picture something like this:
The cool part is that most Weber grills have a groove around their perimeter, making them easy to lift out of the table for standalone use. With one purchase, I could have both a Korean BBQ-style experience and a traditional Western BBQ.
My main concern is whether the people legs and knees will get too hot with the grill so close.
For anyone who owns higher-end models like a Kamado, how good is the insulation on the bottom half? Does it stay cool enough for someone sitting very nearby, or does it still radiate a lot of heat? I’m particularly worried about heat accumulating under the table.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think temps could be a problem. Not only the radiating heat but also if someone is fiddling around or stetching his legs he might touch the grill.
