Anyone ever heard of/tried “El Gourmet Lebanese” in Pickering? They’re opening a new location downtown near Bloor-Yonge on the northwest back side of the TPL Reference Library – worth a shot for a $5.99 chicken shawarma?
Not affiliated, just nearby and spotted – this was a sad burger joint for a few months before they stopped paying rent. Very little foot traffic along that stretch of Church, next to a sad Rabba and Pizza Hut.

I think some places go too far with their pricing on shawarma but I’d instantly be suspicious of a place where it’s this cheap.

I live in Pickering and this spot is pretty good. Relatively new. Used to go there regularly for shawarmas before Aleppo opened up in Ajax. That should give you an idea of where it stands. Not legendary like Aleppo but solid nevertheless.
