Thanksgiving choices – what would you drink first?
These are the wines my dad picked out for Thanksgiving. The price tags might be wrong because he labels them right when he gets them and many are old.
Which one would you open first and why?

If I’m numbering these from left to right: 2, 1, 6, 5, 3, 8, 7, 4. I would expect that to be the order of lightest weight to heaviest, so that the flavors get more intense and big as you go along. Burgundy should be a great start, then the New World Pinots, then the rest.

The Marsannay is the lightest of the bunch.

These are lovely wines but give me a Savennières any Thursday in November over a red for Thanksgiving.

Save the Syrah for the turkey.

I haven’t tried Mayacamas. it’s hard to get it here in NZ.
