Orange and Nouveau. Not raindrops on roses, nor a few of my favorite things.

I am struggling to even imagine how bland and boring a Duboeuf ‘orange nouveau’ must be

Hilarious to talk about something “breaking through the mainstream” considering this is the latest marketing gimmick of the producer that marketed BN to the New World, BN being itself the ultimate wine marketing gimmick.

  4. Trader Joe’s started carrying an $8 orange wine a little while back, I’d say it’s been in the mainstream at this point for some time

Fruit wine on its own drunk like wine is gross, but I mean if youre making a sangria it can really put the sangria over the top. Take a red or white and then put some random fruit wine in it. Just experiment.

  6. We all know that’s just leftover white with food colouring, their regular stuff barely constitutes wine.

Gerard Bertrand has multiple orange wines below $25 retail. All clean, not the natty style. It’s honestly welcome to me, I hate recommending people try orange wines because I have no clue what end of the spectrum they’ll get a bottle from. It’s a safe rec for noobies.

When nouveau broke through decades ago it destroyed the Beaujolais market because most people thought all Beaujolais tasted like nouveau.
