Nice looking bowl of Dal but why all the veggies pre-chopped in packets?

That looks lovely! I keep meaning to make more lentil dishes – could I trouble you for the recipe?

I only use squeezy garlic now. Donโt think Iโll ever go back to any other type

Frozen chopped onions and garlic are a game changer! No smelly hands from chopping, no waste, so easy to throw in almost every recipe. Iโd consider myself a โlazyโ cook – I do make most meals from fresh but will cut corners such as buying ready chopped frozen veggies, and pre-made sauces to add my own herbs etc to.

I used to be a religiously fresh ingredients, especially fresh onion/garlic guy, guy until we had a child. The best piece of advice I ever got was around not holding yourself to standards made your life difficult and create unobtainable goals. If everyoneโs healthy, fed, and – most importantly – happy, then youโre winning. I use garlic powder in most of my dishes these days and I love it. I still use all fresh ingredients a few times a week and love it feeling extra special when I do, and also not feeling guilty when I donโt. Find happiness where you can.

You couldโve made it even lazier by having tinned lentils & freezer peppers!

Not lazy. Time is valuable and I’d do anything to save myself a bit of time nowadays. Food looks delicious. ๐๐ผ
