Debatable whether this is Japanese food in the purest sense. I often cook stuff that heavily leans on Japanese cuisine and ingredients, but might be a bit off, traditionally speaking.

So this is slightly torched nori, sushi rice, hip steak, homemade nikiri brushed on top, and sea salt flakes.

As a side dish, I simmered cabbage in butter, dashi, soy sauce, and a bit of garlic. Garlic is not heavily used in Japan, I‘m aware. I might actually leave it out next time, it didn‘t add much to it.
