The rifle, ammunition, fuel, gutting knife, deer tag, butcher’s fee (unless you did it yourself) and electricity to cool it have all slipped past you… Not to mention the cost of you performing the labor, which generally is far more expensive per hour than hiring a competent professional if you don’t know what you are doing. Looks good though.
Money don’t grow on trees I got bills to pay I got mouths to feed There ain’t nothing in this world for free

The wives like to joke that deer costs $1000 a pound after the hunting expenses of rifles and an ATV but my neighbors could poach a deer off my land for the price of a bullet

Looks like a great cook on the meat. Is venison top round tender as a steak? Also did you make a sauce? It looks like you have some drizzled on the plate.

I love that this is a sub for steak, but they’ll shit on someone for hunting it themself. They’ll go to the store completely disconnected from where the meat came from and then get upset that someone got it themself.

Based on all these comments, I guess every post that includes the price should include gas, electricity, time not spent working, cost of spices/seasoning, etc. Jesus guys. Chill the eff out. The title was saying he procured this meat without buying it from a grocery store or butcher.

My butcher gives me the meat back as “steaks, sausage, the filet, fish, and burgers.” I absolutely hate it. I want the individual muscles like you have here. Do you butcher yourself?
