Lao Peng You is absolutely delicious. Top notch asian cuisine.
Pork and dill dumplings, beef rou jia mo, beef noodle soup, sliced beef shank, and green onion bing.
Not pictured here, but we also tried the Dan Dan noodle and eggplant salad. Everything was fantastic 10/10 👌

I finally made it there for first time 2-3 weeks ago and it was amazing! We had beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, and the lamb and cumin bing. Would definitely order all again, but also want to try almost everything else on the menu, too!

Xian cusine is my go to. Like lao but its kinda a tiny space and pricy. I do think xian is better, but both are great.

Had it for the first time this weekend. The dumplings are the best I’ve had in Chicago and the lamb & cumin bing is incredible. Sadly, I found the beef noodle soup bland. So I mixed the broth with the dumpling soup which was packed full of flavor.

Loved this place but the quality has definitely slipped over time and my last order unfortunately ended with a horrific bout of food poisoning.

Went there once and was very disappointed by the food. I’ve been to a couple of Asian-inspired restaurant in the city but this one is by far the worst.

I’ve gone twice and had VERY different experiences. I loved it the first time and thought it was so oversalted the second time. Didn’t even finish it. Probably was just an off day.
