I’m normally an absolute fiend for salt and can hardly get enough of it. I’ve finally met my match! When I took my first bite I nearly spat it out because of how salty it was! Had to end up just popping an individual anchovy in my mouth each time I took a nice big bite of bread so I didn’t overwhelm myself with the saltiness, and even then it was a little much. All in all the flavor was wonderful, fishy in a good way, plenty of umami, the texture of the bones wasn’t noticeable, and it was overall an enjoyable experience. I will be slowly finishing this jar with some sourdough bread.

My tip is to add some nice thick slices of fresh tomato. I do that combination on crackers like saltines. I typically only do one anchovy fillet per slice of tomato though. No additional salt needed, but some fresh cracked pepper is a nice addition.
That’s one way to do it
