Some specials I’ve come up with at my new job. But also might quit
Started in September, hired under false pretense, rebranding for January. I'm sad. This place was also my dream job for years and now it's turning into something I want no part of.

Beautiful presentations! I’d eat all of them 😋
What you mean false pretenses?

Wow, I am a long time lurker in this sub, and supplied high quality seafood to restaurants in the greater LA area for several years. I am moved to comment on this. Great job chef, looks so well balanced in both taste and presentaton, you could go anywhere 🙂

Dishes look great chef! You might like the new look of the restaurant? I would wait it out to see what happens.

Radish sprouts much? Lol jk everything looks great, but I prefer to have the sprouts in a neat bunch on the plate for a more visual appeal. But again take it with a grain of salt, just one mans opinion.

First plate looks great, chef. They all do!

Lovely plates. I went through exactly what you are describing a few years ago. I landed, what I thought, was my dream job and 3 months in the entire operation was sold off to some big corporate entity. It turned into a Hell on earth situation. I quit, and actually accidentally landed an Executive Chef position that I thought was gonna be “meh”…
It turns out I fell into a job that is 1000 times better than the last! My work space and new restaurant are actually my “happy place”.
My point is, I feel your pain. This industry can chew us up and spit us out faster than I can make a hollandaise. You have all my sympathy and empathy. Hold on and hold out for a better opportunity. You have real talent, something better will come along.
I have faith, you’ll find some new and amazing.

Food looks amazing. Sorry to hear it’s been a disappointment. I was also hired under false pretenses once (bait and switch essentially) and oooh it is not a nice feeling when that happens…. Best wishes to you!
