Mano A Mano (new Italian spot in Logan Square) got a pretty rough rating from Infatuation (6.0, with plenty of negative comments). Has anyone been? Curious to hear other opinions

That pasta does not look good.

I went last week and enjoyed it! I think there are certainly better Italian restaurants in the city, but the service was great. We got the bread starter (pretty good), the zucchini blossoms (very good), the agnolotti, the tagliatelle, and the rigatoni. I didn’t think the rigatoni was anything to write home about, despite being a server recommendation, but the other pastas were quite good. We also got the tiramisu for dessert and THAT was the best dish.

I went a few weeks ago! Def pricey, and I would say the food is pretty average. Service was a little odd, but that’s just me being nitpicky. The interior is nice and moody, and I would definitely give it another chance! I prefer it other Italian spots like monteverde, so maybe I just have unpopular opinions ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I thought that The Infatuation was pretty harsh on Mano A Mano. I thought a few of the pasta dishes were a tad overcooked, but I enjoyed the meal. I think it’s a little pricey for what it is and I feel like you can get a better meal at nearby spots at the same price point.
The Infatuation gave it a 6, but I would personally put it at a 7.5.

Had a 9 PM reservation on a Friday night and waited 40 minutes for my table. Was offered the opportunity pay for our own drinks next door at Andros while we waited. In fairness, when we finally sat, we were given a few free appetizers to get us started, but was kind of odd because we didn’t know what was coming and, therefore, didn’t really know what we should order to supplement.
Whole experience was off-putting and the food is very meh. Firmly on my would not return to list.

No, this place sucks don’t ever go. so I can always get a reservation..
Joking, I’m a big fan. Been there 3 times. I had one special which was mid but yo the spaghetti with the meatball is excellent. I’ll be that guy, and I welcome the ridicule, but I like their spaghet’ better than Monte Verde’s.
It’s an intimate vibe complimented by classic yacht rock and tasty contemporary pasta. What’s not to like?
Parking is tough though 0/5 stars for the parking. Don’t drive here, take the blue line or Uber.

I went when they opened. I really liked the popcorn gelatto.

Been twice in the last month. Both really good experiences. I expected it to be more expensive considering Asador’s price point, but it was not bad at all. Most dishes were strong, a few were standout, and no major misses. To add, the vibe is great – far less stuffy than a thought it would be.

There’s no way I can ever justify going out for Italian.
I don’t get it. You can make 90% as good with boxed pasta and canned sauce, and then you can upgrade from there as you wish.
Edit: some of y’all really need to try cooking at home. It’s really not that difficult.

It’s not good! The food is incredibly mediocre and the service isn’t great. Nothing about this place justifies their prices and I’m convinced they paid a bunch of influencers to post positive reviews when they opened which is how they got all the hype.
So many better it is Italian restaurants in the city, it’s definitely a skip from me.

It’s expensive, but I didn’t think it was terrible at all. The eggplant parm was amazing, and the pastas were great although small.

I liked the vibe a lot and my cocktail was great. That said, agreed that there are better pasta spots in the city so not sure I’d rush back again soon. Is it terrible? Not at all. There are for sure way worse Italian spots. I’d agree with a 7.5 rating

I don’t know much about this restaurant, but I will say that in my experience The Infatuation is not a valuable resource for finding good spots. They seem to be focused on hype and instagraminess rather than substance too frequently.

Highly recommend if you live in the area and can afford it. Very cozy tables, and our servers were so sweet.

I’ve been once. Thought most of the dishes were really good. To be fair, I didn’t pay for the meal though. As far as pasta places go, I’d still put it above daisies for places in Logan.

I went last night and had a good time. The eggplant and tagliatelle bolognese were executed really nicely. $30 for a big carafe of wine (4 glasses) isn’t bad either. Service was great but I had a reservation at 5:30 before it got busy. I don’t think it’s terribly pricey but I do understand you can get a lot more at a classic old school Italian joint. I’m not rushing to go back but I’m happy it’s there.

What happens when you let a non Italian person try and open an Italian restaurant lol

I went during the summer. Great mood and decor. Way overpriced relative to the portions given/taste of the food, drinks overpriced IMO too. Overall it was just fine. Not rushing back

It was very underwhelming. The thin focaccia was a no-go for me. It’s gotta be fluffy and dippable. Also, no limoncello…? Then you’re not even Italian.
I’d call this place a wine bar with food.

I went once and would not go back. Like others said, it’s pretty pricey and none of the dishes stood out except for a salad that has a really bizarre mix of flavors that didn’t go together. We got the calamari, which is served without any dipping sauce. The server made a big show of saying it doesn’t need a sauce if can stand on its own, which it absolutely could not – very under seasoned and chewy, so I also understand what people mean when they say the service is weird. They also brought us the wrong wine. Also, I found the backless stools that make up most of the seating to be very uncomfortable because I’m short and my legs were just dangling with no footrest the whole meal lol.

Our server was strange. It’s hard to explain. He was really uniformed about Italian cuisine, but also really long winded about the menu he didn’t understand. I went there a few months ago and don’t remember anything I ate.
