If they’re ordering deli turkey you’re probably lucky they didn’t attempt to cook a whole one

This is treason.

You could have cooked your own thanksgiving dinner.

Do I name and shame? I don’t know if I can let this slide, it was always actual turkey in years past.

A restaurant charged money for this

We don’t all like turkey so I get a small turkey breast to cook plus a small glazed ham, pork chops and the rest of the turkey sides.

In protest of restaurants being open today (and also Thanksgiving), I’m making mushroom risotto and homemade chocolate pudding because eff tradition. My wife just got off work, so we’re doing a bread course with a Christmas movie. (Becasue fuck this holiday)
I spent the first 15 years of my marriage cooking for strangers on this very special day.

Idk man. From the paper napkin rings to the mismatched salt and pepper shakers to the white stoneware plates, it’s giving diner. Or Midwest full-service mom and pop. In my book, that’s alright. And I would just order accordingly.
Seems like your expectations are a little out of pocket here, though. Just on account of what’s wrapped around the silverware roll, I would not be anticipating a curated Thanksgiving gastronomical journey.
This turkey would be absolute tits on an open-faced white bread sandwich with the All-American industry standard strangely yellow packet gravy and boxed mash. Fight me.
I was grateful to have enough dinner to share with my neighbor. I know he didn’t have anywhere to go this year. I was grateful that I got to take home all the gravy. And I was grateful for the beautiful weather today.
I hope the person that prepared this meal got to go enjoy their holiday today after service.
Maybe next year can be a better year 💚 Time is the best physician.

But is it Boar’s Head

This is just so many crimes all on one plate.
I once worked the deli dept in a grocery store that featured Boar’s Head, and yes we worked all day Thanksgiving.
From the crimes of putting this on a restaurant plate to charging for it to the dishie issues there to being open at all on Thanksgiving to how & why the heck I walked OUT on Thanksgiving Day and came right back the next day knowing absolutely nobody would say a word against me??? Yeah. Eff Thanksgiving work.

They sold you cold cuts?

Mixe and match S&P and open on Thanksgiving. You are in a Greek or Korean diner… situational awareness next time my rube… or maybe roast your own fake holiday meal.
McJambles
Go cook for yourself then, you would half ass your job if you worked on thanksgiving too
This is how a beloved diner in town does turkey “with all the trimmings.” There’s a lot of other an absolutely gross garbage, but the turkey thing was the most disappointing to me.
